It sounds like he's there to stay
This was from Yahoo:
May 1 RHP Max Scherzer was promoted to the starting rotation Wednesday morning, less than a day after retiring all 13 batters he faced, striking out seven, in his major league debut in relief Tuesday. Scherzer will replace RHP Edgar Gonzalez (1-2, 6.55 ERA) in the rotation and is scheduled to start against Philadelphia on Monday. "This is the start of what we believe will be big things for him," D-backs manager Bob Melvin said. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to go out and get wins for my team. I like pitching the best. Whatever role, I'll do," Scherzer, whose first game was more special because his parents, best friend and girl friend were in attendance. "It was a good night," Scherzer said.
Apr 30 Scherzer wasted no time in earning a spot in the Arizona Diamondbacks' rotation.
Advice: The hard-throwing right-hander will start Monday when Arizona is home against the Philadelphia Phillies, Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin said before Wednesday's game against Houston. Scherzer had no decisions in four starts with Triple-A Tucson, but the rest of his statistics were impressive. He had a 1.17 ERA, allowing three earned runs in 23 innings. He struck out 38 and walked three.
