2B - Kent or Bret Boone?

Postby The Jury » Mon Feb 23, 2004 7:57 pm

Got any opinions on these two? They seem pretty much the same to me except that Boone started tearing it up just a few years ago while Kent has been doing the business for a long time now...

Who's safer? Any projections? Opinions?
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

I don't know who I would consider safer, but of the two I would probably take Boone.

They're both pretty close, and both are getting fairly old, but I'd give the nod to Boone.

Kent had some injury worries last year that contributed to slightly disappointing numbers.

I'd say Kent: .300, 30 HR, 105 RBI
Boone: .297, 33 HR, 115 RBI

I think they'll put up very similar numbers.
Since Kent seems to be lasting longer in the drafts, I'd suggest trying to get him late in round 3 or in round 4 sometime...Boone seems to be gone by early round 3 in almost every draft I've seen.

I have Boone rated slightly ahead of Kent....and have them both projected in the 2nd round..... :-)

I agree with DHC and have Boone slightly ahead of Kent.
There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Boone went in the 2nd round of my 16 team keeper. I waited and got Kent in the 4th round. I was pretty happy with that because I think they are fairly equal.

I rank Kent over Boone. :-)
