Getting Killed in H2H

Postby LiveRock27 » Sun Apr 13, 2008 8:44 pm

I am off to an 0-2 start. Not only am I 0-2, but I have gotten my butt handed to me both weeks because I have no offense. My pitching is the only thing winning me catagories right now.
This is a yahoo H2H league
Stats Catagories: R, H, 1B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, AVG, OPS, XBH, CYC, SLAM, OFA, IP, W, L, CG, SHO, SV, ER, BB, K, GIDP, WHIP, RW, RL, NH, PG
I made a trade for C. Heart and Pudge giving up R. Martin and dropping K. Kouzmanoff. I also added Longoria and dropped S. Drew.
My Team:
C Ivan Rodriguez
1B Carlos Guillén
2B B.J. Upton
3B Álex Rodríguez
SS Orlando Cabrera
OF Ichiro Suzuki
OF Billy Butler
OF Corey Hart
Util M. Kemp
BN E. Longoria
BN A. Jones
SP C. Hamels
SP Verlander
SP Sheets
SP C. Billingsley
SP D. McGowan
SP M. Cain
SP I. Snell
RP F. Cordero
RP B. Jenks
RP M. Corpas
Do you think my team is just off to a slow start or should I be worried about my lineup? Thanks and leave your post and I will help.

I would say that all you need is another big name, productive outfielder. I might try dealing Sheets for someone like Alex Rios if you are lucky, or more likely someone of Chris Young's or Torii Hunter's level. You may need to package this trade.

I am probably going to drop Andruw Jones, but not sure who to pick up?
The best available bats:
H. Matsui
N. Swisher
A. Either

Leave your post and I will help.

I'm now 12.5 back, so any help would be great.

I think your team is just off to a slow start. I would not drop A. Jones.

I hope you are right about my team.
I am not really in love with any of the options to replace him with. Maybe he will have a big week and I can unload him to someone in a trade.

I dropped Andruw for Swisher. How do I look now?
My Team:
C Ivan Rodriguez
1B Carlos Guillén
2B B.J. Upton
3B Álex Rodríguez
SS Orlando Cabrera
OF Ichiro Suzuki
OF Billy Butler
OF Corey Hart
Util N. Swisher
BN E. Longoria
BN M. Kemp
SP C. Hamels
SP Verlander
SP Sheets
SP C. Billingsley
SP D. McGowan
SP M. Cain
SP I. Snell
RP F. Cordero
RP B. Jenks
RP M. Corpas
With Carlos Guillén being day to day I can either start Swisher or Butler at 1B and the other at OF leaving Longoria as my Utility guy until Guillén is back.

Your team is very similar to mine, and yet I'm in second place in a roto league.
I'd hang tight, I'm feeling the pain as well. The problem is the cold weather for all the AL players.
I'm just waiting for my power hitters to come out in a big way.

Check out my team at viewtopic.php?f=29&t=336953&sid=5a3a6157a6463a2c27328b8f717880bb#p2696452 and lend your suggestions.

i'm not very knowledgable in H2H. but heres my comments -

-pitching looks fantastic. not concerned at all.
-picking up swisher was excellent
-kemp is droppable
-never ever bench longoria ;-)

- you've pecnicled guillen in at 1B. and i'm not too high on o.cabrera. i would look to trade one of them for a true-1B. and look to replace kemp with a WW slugger. you can bench hart till he heats up. and dont start guillen and cabrera together.

Thanks for all the help EverbodyHits. I will see about looking into a 1B.
The few guys with some power on my WW are:
G. Kapler
J. Crede
C. Kotchman
M. Jacobs
H. Matsui(not a ton of power, but RBIs w/the lineup infront of him)
Of course Longoria is staying in the lineup ;-) I stayed up late the other night to make sure when he became available I could pick him up right away.
