Decipher this teams ability to compete in a 7x7. (WHIR)

14 team league
50 move limit to keep from churning pitching

This is my first league with these sole cats so I was wondering what some opinions of my team were. Two of my picks were made by the computer (C, 2B) when it kicked me off and players that I was targeting were still available. I am less than impressed with my pitching but that can fixed to an extent during the season although with this many players drafted there is not a whole lot left.

Standard Batting Cats:
plus OBP, SLUG

Standard Pitching Cats:
plus IP, BB,

C: Hernandez
1B: A. Gonzalez
2B: Pedoria
3B: C. Jones
SS: Tejada
OF: Holliday
OF: Beltran
OF: Pierre
OF: Willingham
Util: Blalock
BN: Duncan
BN: Rolen
BN: Winn

SP: Sabathia
SP: Dice K
RP: Street
RP: Ryan
P: Burnett
P: McGowan
P: Gorzelanny
P: Glavine
BN: Baker

Your pitching is nice, but your Util and bench for hitters really would have me worried. Rolen, Blalock, Winn... ew. Your SS and 3B are old and you could use some younger depth there, maybe to add some steals, although Pierre will lead you in that category. I like your SP.

Very good for a 14 teamer. Might be light on speed. Maybe grab a Jerry Owens/Micheal Bourn type off waivers.

Before I answer; I have never dealth with OBS/Slug
I have IP and BB

1. I like the Pedroia pick for OBS a lot. He always gets on base and rarely strikes out
2. OF for 14 team is very good. Getting Beltran/Holiday (1 & 2?) was big. And while Pierre sucks overall, you got him for speed
3. I am not sold on Tejada/Chipper. Personally I would try to deal Chipper because Hank is close. Chipper gets hurt often; if he doesn't than your good. As for Tejada...I think he sucks personally. But again 14 team so its not bad
4. SP is good overall. However, with a stat cat like BB Dice-K could be a liability. I am a sox fan and have seen him work. However, he gets IP. I like both Mcgowan/Gorz picks. Good back end for 14 team
5. RP does BJ have the starting job? I like Huston; I drafted him. If he stays healthy he is an elite closer.

Help with mine?

I like the team... Holliday should give you the best SLUG stats in the game! he is insane! Also, i wouldnt worry too much about your utility spot as someone previously stated. Blalock will have a huge year if healthy and all indicators show that he is almost 100% after off season shoulder surgery. I would look for an upgrade at 2B but other than that your offense is great for a 14 team league. Youve got a great combo of power and speed, youth and vet. One thing i would do if iwere you is trade away your 1B Gonzalez. He is a great player but he plays at Petco park 82 times a season...he is going a bit early in some drafts so you might be able to get konerko for him maybe? Your pitching is solid! Dice-K is gonna kick ass and k more than 210 batters this yr with a below 4 era. However you do need some relievers but you can get that as the season goes on...

Great Team for a deep league! good job
