I'm the commissioner of a standard 4x4 NL-only auction league, with a live draft in the NYC area. Details follow:
12 teams, $260 budget, 4X4 scoring
$150 entry fee covers stat service (All Star Stats) and all moves (no transaction fees).
Live auction, most likely in midtown Manhattan, on Sunday, April 6
Prizes are 50%/25%/15%/10% after subtracting the stat service fee - the winner takes home over $1000.
We have owners from Long Island, New York City, New Jersey, and Philidelphia.
The league has been around since 1990 and is very competitive. We are looking for active, experienced owners. There are two spots available, and they will form their keeper lists by drafting players from the teams that are leaving the league.
NOTE: I will be upfront and tell you that the quality of players available is not the best. There are several very good keepers available, and you will likely end up keeping about 6 or 7 (maximum is 11). This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a league with the intention of becoming a long-term owner. From my experience, both in joining leagues and having new teams join mine, it is rare that you'll inherit a roster with a chance to win (simply because teams tend to go for it if they know it will be their last year). Because of this, we are reducing the entry fee for the 2 new teams to $150 each ($200 for everyone else).
Plus, you'll get to have two drafts (the draft to form your team, and the actual auction, AND get to buy a ton of players at the auction) - twice as much fun at 3/4 the price!
If you're interested, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
, and tell me a little about yourself and your roto experience. I'll send you a copy of our rules, the available players, and answer any questions you have.
