THE MUPPET SHOW DYNASTY AUCTION LEAGUE
This is a 5x5 roto auction league, with the auction done slow on a message board. 28 roster spots $100 entry fee, will be hosted on cbs sportsline. I am commish of 5 other auction leagues, so i have alot of experence with these leagues. Each Team will use a name of a muppet as there team name. > ENTRY FEE
A > Each owner will be required to submit $100 to the
league to secure a team for our first season.
Teams will be filled on a first come, first serve
B > Teams must submit their $100 entry fee for
following seasons by Feb 1st
2 > ROSTERS
A > A player must be on a MLB disabled list in order
to be placed on a teams disabled list in our
B > A team must activate a player from its disabled list
by the second lineup deadline after he is
activated by his MLB team. Failure to act in time
will result in the player automatically being
C > The utility position may be filled by a player
eligible at any position except for pitcher.
D > The 5 reserves may be eligible for any position.
E > A player will be eligible for any position at which
they played 10 or more games in the previous
I > No roster moves will be made retroactive.
3 > SCORING
A > Pitcher’s hitting stats will not count.
B > If a hitter happens to pitch his pitching stats will
4 > AUCTION
A > There will be an auction where each team may
bid on free agents.
B > The auction will end when each team has filled
their 28 roster spots. Teams must fill all 28 roster
C > The salary cap is $260 per team.
D > The minimum bid is one dollar.
E > All bids must be in whole dollars.
F > A player must be in organized MLB, or an
unsigned free agent, to be eligible for bidding.
G > Once a bid is made all other teams may make an
H > A team may not bid against itself.
I > All bids must be posted on the proboard site so that all teams can see the bid.
J > A bid is final and not retractable once placed.
K > Bidding continues on each player until there is no
better offer within 12 hours of the latest bid. At
that time the player will be awarded to the
5 > FREE AGENTS
A > All players not signed in the auction will become
B > Any free agent claimed from waivers or as an
unrestricted free agent will have a salary of $5
C > Free agents will be eligible as keepers.
D > Free agents picked up while on the DL of a MLB
team are eligible for our injured lists.
6 > KEEPERS
C > Teams must announce their intentions to keep
players by February 1st. Failure to announce will
result in the player being released at the February
D > If a team chooses to keep a player they must give
that player a raise of $5 for the new season.
E > Teams may keep as many players as they wish but
they must have a roster spot for each player and
be under the salary cap for the auction.
7 > TRADING
A > This is a free trade league, as long as you stay at or below the cap.
B > Salary cap cannot be traded.
C > Waiver claim position cannot be traded.
8 > COSTS
A > We will be using the CBS Sportsline website to
run our league. The cost of the site is currently
$129.95 per year.
B > The expense of the CBS site will be deducted
from the monies collected in entry fees with the
balance being returned to the league as prize
9 > PRIZE POOL
A > Prize pool for 2007 (14 teams) will be $1270
B > Payout breakdown:
First Place wins $ 600
Second Place wins $ 400
Third Place wins $ 270
C > All league prizes will be paid out and mailed
during the week following the conclusion of the
10 > RULE CHANGES
A > Rule changes may be submitted by owners.
C > If the change is simply a wording or explanation
of the rules I will take a look at that and make
any necessary changes.
D > If the proposed change is actually a new or
revised rule I will take a look at the change. If I
think it’s something that would work I will put it
up for a vote amongst all owners. The vote will
be majority wins.
E > In general I think it is important to have
consistency in the rules from one year to the next
so drastic rule changes I will most likely, but not
necessarily always, not put up for a vote.
11 > ABANDONED TEAMS
A > A team will be considered abandoned if it does
not pay its $100 entry fee by the due date.
B > An owner cannot lose his team because the rest
of the league believes they are running their
team wrong. Either by their choice of starting
lineups, doesn’t reply to trade offers, etc. Even if
the other owners don’t like what they are doing
it is their team, their money and their right to run
their team as they wish.
D > If a team is considered abandoned the league
will bring in a new owner. If a new owner must
be brought in during the course of a season the
previous owner will not be refunded their entry
12 > ACCOUNTING
A > I will act as treasurer for the league as well as
commissioner. The reason for this is that while I
wouldn’t mind someone else handling the duties
as treasurer the bottom line is that if there is any
question regarding money being short, or the
treasurer just disappearing in worst case scenario,
this is a league that I started and it would be my
responsibility to come up any missing league
B > I will hold all league funds separate from my
C > Payments can be made to me through paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org
D > If you bounce a check you will be expected to
reimburse me for any charges incurred. Failure to
do so will result in your team being considered
E > Should the league disband for some reason all
monies not paid out for league prizes or
expenses will be returned.
13. Salary Cap: This league will have a in season salary cap of $330 for your whole roster including injuried players.
14. Scoring Method will be 5x5 with offensive cats of BA, HR, RBI,SB, runs and pitching cats of Era, Saves ,Wins, and WHip, K's
15. All players will retain there auction salary through out the season weather droped or not. A team that picks up a droped player takes on that players salary.
We will be using player postions as follows
1C, 1 1b, 1 2b, 1 ss 1 3b, 1MI,1CI, 5 OF, 2U and 9 Pitchers
5 Player Reserve can be any player
will have a 5 man Injured spots.
