Im higher on Oswalt than most. If you can take him after the 3rd then he's a steal. His numbers speak for themself.
I take him ahead of the Oak trinity, with it being real close between Oswalt and Hudson. I would rather have Wood, but just because of the health issue.

I think his health issue is a thing of the past, and if he can put together a full season he should be a top 3 in cy young voting - easily. There are very few SPs who can match him in ERA and Whip - not to mention he is very solid in Ks.

are you not concerned about his injury history trev?

i'm not too concerned about his injury. He's had a lot of time to heal.

if he wasn't injured i'd have him in the ranks of Vazquez and Mussina. That's how good I think Oswalt is.

From what I've read the surgery Ozwalt had to correct the groin problem has a very high success rate. He was lights out even with the groin issues. If this surgery eliminates them as has been reported, then Oz could very well vault to the top of the NL pitching list.

Here is a case when drafting early hurts. If you are drafting later, say mid-March, you will have time to see Ozwalt and read some more reports before deciding, but I would take him pretty damn early myself. I would call him a top 10, with a chance to be a top 5 pitcher.

Astro fan here. I'm a little concerned that with his small build and high heat that he will have small injuries at times but if he stays healthy he would be considered in the top 5 for sure. I would take a gamble on him early because someone else will.
