What I am excited about

Postby jlm53089 » Sat Jan 05, 2008 1:04 pm

With an offseason of various moves, trades, and well hope.
The Rays have recently worked on their pen, with the addition of Percival and the trade for Wheeler last season.
Seeing Longoria, if this kid is what he is all cracked up to be it would be great to see him play with Upton, Crawford, and hopefully Balldeli.
Carlos Pena, after being comeback player of the year last year, what will he do this year? Hit 40 homers with 120 rbi and bat .290. or will he hit 15 homeruns play in 90 games and bat .220?

But most of all.
We have 3 solid starters for the first time, well ever.
Name 5 other teams with 3 solid starters.
Even though Kaz is really the only known starter through the media, Shields is a beast and Garza can be great.
Only a few teams come to my mind when they have 3 solid starters, Tigers, Angels, Indians

This is what I am excited from, who else just can't wait for pitchers and catchers to report in feburary?

With all the good things going on, I am probably most excited to see Kazmir go a full season with an improved defense and improved bullpen behind him. He could easily be among the league leaders in wins this year along with Ks as well. But like I said, there are numerous things to be happy about. A possible 3 headed monster in the starting rotation, an improved bullpen, a offense that just needs one more bat(hopefully Baldelli) to make it one of the leagues top 5 offenses, another year of McGee and gang getting closer to helping, another first overall pick in the draft(and it should be a guy that could very well help us in about 18 months).

What worries me

1. crowd attendance
2. the effect of the loss of Delmon on Upton
3. managerial decisions(is Maddon really the right man for the job)
4. does the FO spend the money needed next offseason to put us into position for a playoff run in 09 and 10
