Jenkins is an above average OF vs Righties. Last season he posted an 104 OPS+, 2006 a 117 OPS+ and 2005 a 137 OPS+. He is also an above average defensive player with a strong arm. He is declining in every phase of his game but I think they'll still get two above average years out of him as long as they are strict with the platoon.
I'd certainly rather have him than Gabe Kapler who just came out of retirement and signed with the Brewers

Have to agree - I think his decline in OBP against RHP's last year was an indication of dwindling skills due to age. A two year contract for a player who is 33 going into 08 (and turning 34 in July) with limited skills seems excessive.
