talan37 wrote:Like I said I would probably let it slide, but unless your really shallow on pitchers imo the guy giving up buerhle is getting robbed. Lots of guys have 1 month hot streaks, but that doesn't suddenly make them fair trade value for a solid pitcher who's been good all season. Another issue is that as soon as melky cools down back to regular melky he will probably lose his fulltime role. Its certainly not a trade I would "riot" about or get up in arms about, but i think its pretty awfully unfair, and unless the one guy desperately needed OF and hitting help and had an absolute glut of pitching, its borderline imo. If I was commish and most of the league seemed to think it was fine then I would let it go, but if enough owners didn't like it, and there wasn't some noticeable need then I might re-consider.

I understand at times it can be tricky to make trades, and it can be often hard to get fair value for a player, which is why I think when there is an actual need you can expand a bit on whats fair and whats not. Because if noone will give him anything for buehrle and he can't get a replacement OF hes screwed.
While he only has 9 wins, his ratios are very good, and while his strikeouts are mediocre(90), his good era and whip more than make up for it, making him much better than "average".
