I'd take Hanley right now, but it is debatable.

As already stated, their stats will be similar with Reyes leading SBs and Hanley leading HRs. With that said, it comes down to team need on whether you would want one or the other. You can't really say which one is better because it is a matter of HR vs. SB, which is mostly opinion.

That means absolutely squat

That was my point. 30 extra SB means nothing.

Shhhhhh everyone! You're going to ruin it.

I'd rather take Hanley in the 2nd round (like I did this year) than Reyes in the 1st.

By the way, isn't it sad that we're having this conversation and Hanley Ramirez didn't make the all-star team.

If you feel that Reyes will top out at 10 homeruns most years and Hanley will hit 30 while stealing 50, then yes, Hanley is the clear choice. I just don't feel that way. I honestly see Reyes as a 15-20 HR guy most years, with Hanley between 25-30. But I see Reyes as lead off guy for most of his career, while I see Hanley as a 3 hitter. More RBI's, yes, but much less SB's. Based solely on my projections, Reyes would be the slightly more valuable commodity.

No way Hanley is a 2nd rounder next year. You can't imagine how stoked I am that I just acquired him in a keeper league for carlos lee and bill hall

He shouldn't be, but he shouldn't have been this year either. Off the top of my head, I can think of 13 players who may go before him next year...

ARod
Pujols
Vlad
Howard
Utley
MCab
Fielder
Reyes
Wright
Santana
Holliday?
Soriano?
Crawford?

If he does in the 2nd half what he did in the first, he will definitely be recognized for it.

If you could assure me that the 2nd half stats would match the 1st half I'd take Ramirez over Reyes, he has been better this year though its pretty close. I still ike Reyes' upside a tad bit more, but its pretty close.

I think he means that the team that has Hanley may have other SB contributors so you can't just discount Reyes' 30 extra SB as nothing. The team that owns Reyes may not have another player that has a SB. Reyes' SBS are still significant.
