Please help rank 1st rounders

Postby Andy1234 » Wed Feb 04, 2004 10:53 pm

This feels like the stupidest question I have ever asked on this site but it is giving a very hard time. Usually I have no problem ranking my first rounders, but for some reason I am having a little trouble this year, How would you rate the top 12 or so picks.

1.) Alex Rodriguez
2.) Albert Pujols

Please help rate 3-12 (these are the people I think should be ranked up here but I don't know who goes where) (a list and a little insight would be helpful)

Carlos Beltran
Barry Bonds
Nomar Garciaparra
Vladimir Guerrero
Todd Helton
Pedro Martinez
Mark Prior
Curt Schilling
Gary Sheffield
Alfonso Soriano
Sammy Sosa

(Any Other Names I forgot??)

My 10

Postby Ballwreckers » Thu Feb 05, 2004 12:10 am

Here is my list..Take it or Leave it B-)

3.)Vlad-SB will decline, but will thrive in Anaheim
4.)Soriano- More RBI’s, but less runs, but you can’t lose with him.
5.)Prior- 2nd full season and the #1 pitcher..the kid can do it all!
6.)Beltran- Better lineup and has not even hit his prime yet.
7.)Pedro-Look for more wins with a real closer backing him.
8.)Helton-Does everything but steal. and does it extremely well!
9.)Bonds- Aging like fine wine...you won't be disappointed
10.)Gagne- Didn't win CY Young on his good looks.
11.)Halladay-only 26 and still has room for improvement.
12.)Sheffield-should put up similar #'s with Yankees as last year.

Runner ups- Woods,Ordonez,Nomar,Schilling

whoever put beltran ahead of vlad is on crack, vlad will not steal close to 40 again but 20-30 is very realistic, and you never know with the way the angels play, they like to run, so i can see them using his speed unless his back still hurts which i doubt after a full offseason. and in everyother category, his stats go up, especially RBI's and Runs
Reyes and guerrero, the two most blessed players in the league, not to mention the most fun to watch
