Why am i not a contender?

Postby sportsnut307 » Tue Jun 19, 2007 2:59 am

I've had injury issues but i still think i should be better. Any tips or advice? I'm in a 12 team deep mixed league and i've been in 2nd but i'm consistently staying at about 7th. Am i that bad? I've got a little power, some speed, decent pitching. i'm confused.

You may want to think about upgrading your outfield. You are hurting for power. You have Ortiz and Dye and they haven't shown there usual power so far this season. Both should come around, atleast Ortiz anyways. Once you get Upton and Ramirez back your team should be much better.
Your pitching staff needs a little help as well. You are relying pretty heavily on Lowe and weaver. You need one more solid starter. Hopefully Harden will return to form when he comes off the DL. He might be good trade bait. I would wait for him to pitch a month or so and then sell high on him and make his injuries someone else's problem.
