Potential Brewers monster Yovani Gallardo has looked mighty fine through two outings, but don't be surprised if he's in the bullpen or back in the minors by this time next week. Chris Capuano will be getting his rotation spot back soon, and there's still no indication Claudio Vargas is being booted. Fantasy owners won't be pleased if Gallardo is pitching in the sixth innings of 8-2 games, but that could be where this is headed. The Brewers don't need to pile on the miles for his young arm yet, not with a large division lead and the best record in the NL.
From the Brewers perspective it makes perfect sense to limit his innings if they don't need him starting at the major league level in order to make the playoffs.
