Alex Gordon.......Joey Gathright called up

Just pure speculation and me being from KC and hearing all the talk, etc, etc, etc.....

Don't be surprised to see Gordon get sent packing in the next week or two unless he can really pick it up. I'll put it at a 40% chance that he gets shipped out.

On the other hand Gathright is absolutely working over AAA..... I wouldn't be too surprised to see him get called up within the next week or two. Not saying he will finally turn it around and become a legit MLB player but if you need a few steals....you know what to do! I'll put it at a 40% chance here as well that he gets called up fairly soon.

Anyway, take it or leave it. These are just my thoughts after listening to all the sports talk here in town and getting to hear thoughts from people "in the know".

;D carry on....

They should have sent down AG a month ago.

He should have spent some time in AAA from the start of the season...... but yeah, you're just preaching to the choir here!

i think its a good move to send Gordon down.
not sure on Gathright. hasnt he always done well in the minors, but struggled in the majors? maybe hes just one of those guys whos good in the minors but can never adjust to major league pitching?

Were you around when people were predicting .300-25-100-100-30 type season?

Well, it's not like yahoos and fanboys were making wild predictions: That was his PECOTA line, and PECOTA is generally pretty accurate. One would have to imagine he'll reach those heights sooner or later, but it's obviously not going to happen this season. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see him pull a Mark Teahen, head to the minors for a few weeks to get his head on straight and then torch AL pitching for the entire 2nd half.

PECOTA is not always the best way to measure prospects because they are based on historical performances and when dealing with minor leaguers with limited track record, projections can get skewed.

I still love AG in a heterosexual way. I just thought he was overrated coming into this season.
