I just did my Yahoo Draft in a 12-team, 5x5 roto league. Here is my current roster:

C - Paul Lo Duca
1st - Todd Helton
2nd - Jose Vidro
3rd - Mike Lowell
SS - Jimmy Rollins
OF - Bobby Abreu
OF - Jacque Jones
OF - Darin Erstad
Util - Edgardo Alfonso
Bench - Fernando Vina 2B
Bench - Sean Burroughs 3B
Bench - Orlando Cabrera SS

SP - Curt Schilling
SP - Odalis Perez
SP - Al Leiter
SP - Paul Byrd
SP - Andy Pettitte
RP - Jason Isringhausen
RP - Jose Jimenez
Bench - Joe Mays, Jose Contreras

What do you guys think? I know that I'm lacking saves and HR power. I like the IF, not too sure about OF other than Abreu. And if changes should be made.. which guys are expendable. Thanks a bunch.

I'd say it's fairly above average for a 12 team league. Certainly not an automatic winner but definitely a solid start. I'd say without any good trades or good luck that team would probably get about third or fourth place. It depends on how well you manage whether you win or finish in the middle of the pack. But like I said, good job. I think the first thing you need to trade for is a solid outfielder and one very good pitcher, your current staff is about average.

I like this team, excluding maybe Lowell. I don't think he's all he's hyped up to be. If I were you I'd try to package something up with say Lowell and Cabrera and see if it's possible for you to get a Rolen or a Hinske instead. Hope that helps.

I would try to move Isringhausen for another RP, maybe someone like Foulke or such. Just think he is too much of a injury risk and may start the season on DL even. Could possibly use another closer regardless of Isringhausen, try the FA wire for Williamson, Embree, or another closer sleeper.

Supposedly both Rollins and Abreu may not run as much with the new Philly lineup, so they may not have as many SB as past years, so you could be a little low in the SB department too.

Helton is a tough one to call, he will definately hit for average, but some say he is still hurting a bit and that might affect his power numbers. So, in the right deal, he could bring you a better power hitter, like Thome or such.

Just my thoughts. Hope they help.

he does have "one very good pitcher" and that is shill. i agree that your outfield pretty week. and your power. i would suggest trying to trade helton for thome. thome will get good power #'s.

and im wondering why you took the chance on Mays with that elbow injury? what round did you get him in?

I picked up Mays in the 19th round out of 21. I figured I'd take a chance on him, considering TSN ranked the Twins #1 in its power rankings this year. Hopefully he'll return to All-Star form.

second team is the best for sure....because the first team is hurting in the outfield.
