Dunn to the Padres? Why would either team make the trade as listed. If the Reds admit they are out of it they are gonna want prospects not 2 guys who are gonna be free agents, unless you mean Kevin Cameron.

The Padres are in it to win it, and they wont move Linebrink either, he is a key component to their pen, maybe if Meredith was pitching in 2006 form then I could see it. As for Prospects currently the only real prospect the Pads got is Headley, and the Reds dont really need a 3B of the future.

While a trade could happen involving Dunn to the Padres dont buy into the one rumored here.

Agreed, it doesn't make much sense at all. Why do we need another lefthanded bat? Petco supresses left handed power.
We need a RH power bat.

Also, with Linebrink being a FA at the end of 2007, the Reds aren't getting much future returns in this deal. Also, Dunn's 2008 team option is wiped out, making him a FA if he is dealt. Makes no sense on either side, except that Dunn may be the one left-handed exception to the Petco rule. Regardless, the Padres need a RH bat and can't pay the price to bring in Dunn.

Looks like Elijah Dukes is on the trading block and Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Nationals are really interested in him.

The New York Post reports the Yankees most likely WON'T be looking for a 1b via trade. Cashman seems to be happy with Cairo and Phelps.

Maybe now they can start looking for some pitching rather than some more veteran bats.

Great class act player to build a new stadium and franchise around.

They should try to get Milton Bradley as well. Maybe Bonds will sign for one year

Don't think anyone linked the article yet...

The Nationals are pursuing a trade for troubled Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes, major-league sources tell FOXSports.com. No deal is imminent, and other clubs remain interested in Dukes, one source says.

The Nationals, however, represent a logical fit. Dukes, 22, could replace the Nats’ center-field platoon of Nook Logan and Ryan Langerhans.
...
The Rays, after declining to penalize Dukes, increased their efforts to trade him, apparently believing that he needs to leave the Tampa-St. Petersburg area.

More Dunn stuff:

According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Reds have already made Adam Dunn available in trade talks.

Dunn and Brandon Phillips to the Nationals for Jon Rauch and Saul Rivera? Excuse us if we don't trust GM Wayne Krivsky to get a great return for Dunn, who is on pace for a fourth straight 40-homer season. He's a tougher sell because he'd likely void his $13 million option for 2008 if traded. The Padres are believed to be interested, and the Dodgers could really use a power hitter. AL contenders with potential fits for an outfielder or DH include, the Yankees, White Sox, Mariners and Twins. However, we could see the Yankees going after Ken Griffey Jr. first and he's not a Twins kind of player even if the team did have room in its budget fot him.

Sorry to bombard this thread with Reds trade rumors, but more radio shows are supposedly reporting Dunn to the Dodgers is close as well as Griffey to Atlanta (and that he's approved a trade to the Braves).

Don't know if these have significant merit (or fantasy implications) or not, but I thought I'd pass them along.
