What would you draft next?

Postby Brandaddy » Thu Jan 22, 2004 3:20 pm

in a 10 team keeper league. here is my team so far.

C - Ivan Rodriguez
1B - Jason Giambi
2B - Luis Castillo
SS - Alex Rodriguez
3B - Eric Chavez
OF - Barry Bonds
OF - Vernon Wells
OF - None
Util - None
Util - None

SP - Randy Johnson
SP - Hideo Nomo
RP - Billy Wagner
RP -
P - Matt Morris
P - Matt Clement
P - Rafael Soriano

What position would you draft next? I'm thinking maybe OF or RP

the players available are:

1. Carl Crawford
2. Matt Mantei
3. Luis Gonzalez
4. Trot Nixon
5. Hideki Matsui
6. Shannon Stewert
7. Austin Kearns
8. Alex Sanchez
9. Jerry Hairston Jr.
10. Johnny Damon

ill prolly take Crawford or Kearns if available when its my turn. I'll get to draft 2 pretty quick cuz i had the 2nd pick in the draft. Theres 5 picks til my first pick and 7 til my second so i'll get atleast 2 of these players.
I love my Diamondbacks!

You look to be set on power. Go for Crawford for the steals if there is not a top tier closer left. Also might want to get an innings horse for a starting pitcher if there is one left. RJ and Nomo are getting older, and Soriano's spot isn't proven, so a minimal injury risk would let you breathe a little easier. Someone like Livan Hernandez will easily get you 200+ innings and he won't hurt your ERA and Whip too badly.
It's time to roll the dice.

while matsui has slipped a ways, in your next two pickstarget a)speed (crawford if available. if crawfors goes, look for dave roberts a few rounds later. damon isnt bad either) and b)a closer (mantini is best bet on that list)

looks like some players slipping. with A-Rod going secong, who went first, pujols or soriano? Bonds looksnice where you got him. a pretty good team so far, just be sure to add another speedster or 2.
Lets Go patsox!

yay! sox win!!!

Damon would be my choice. Hitting atop a strong BoSox offense pretty much guarantees pretty solid production. He'll get his steals and put up a solid average.Shannon Stewart could also be a nice choice, for the same reasons If he gets the green light running for the Twins.............
