Return to Baseball Leftovers

Your best pitching staff ever

SP Randy Johnson
SP Pedro Martinez
SP Tom Glavine
SP Andy Pettitte
SP Roger Clemens (for a few starts)
RP Mariano Rivera

That was a nasty pitching staff in 2001...unfortunately that was the bulk of my staff in 2006. :~(

However, with K-Rod providing a 1-2 punch with Rivera in the pen, some mixing and matching with 4th and 5th caliber starters (including Blanton and Duke), and a stacked offense (featuring V-Mart, Howard, Soriano, Wright among others), I was able to ride my team to the title in a 14-team, pts H2H league. ;-D

My staff this year has been so good I actually benched Johan Santana this week because I had three great two-starters (OK, it's already turned out to be a bad idea).

Johan Santana
Felix Hernandez
Jered Weaver
Erik Bedard
Tim Lincecum

On a 12-team H2H redraft last season:

Carlos Zambrano
Cole Hamels
John Lackey
Jeremy Bonderman
Dan Haren
Scott Kazmir
Jered Weaver
Erik Bedard
Brad Penny

Joe Nathan
J.J. Putz
Huston Street

I won the league quite handily, especially with Big Tex, Frank Thomas, and Matt Holliday carrying the load offensively down the stretch. ;-D

This year is my best. Team ERA is 2.81 (1st), WHIP is 1.08 (2nd) and 2nd in Ks. I choose quality SP this year over closers in my draft and picked up most of my closers on the WW.
