Same, Better or Worst Vlad?

Postby trevisc » Sun Jan 11, 2004 3:11 pm

Now that Vlad has signed with the Angels, do you think his stats this year will be the Same as they have been, Better then they have been or worse then they have been.

I'm trying to get a feel for whether or not I should try to trade Vlad before we do our draft this year.

Slightly better IMO.

Positives: Better lineup, DH can only help hi sprotection level and/or increase the number of runners on base when he comes up. Angels are a solid team.

Negatives: League switch.

Parks are both fair I believe but have not looked them up.

Doubt it makes a great deal of difference, but he should go up a little, IMO.

Vlad is Vlad. He would do well no matter where he plays. He should have some good table setters in front of him and some protection depending on how the lineup is set. He will also face the Rangers pitching several times a year (sorry Madison).

Yeah Trev. I might think of trading Vlad before the draft, but that would be because of his back, and not his new team. If Vlad is healthy (and that is a reasonable "if") i think he will put up the same or better numbers.

How do you spell "biased?"

In a keeper, why would you even consider moving him? Both parks are neutral. He could struggle a bit in beginning like Thome did from league switch.

Vlady will be better in AL.
+ points DH, more runs score in AL on average, the Angels have a better lineup, Mike likes to Run, and vlady playing on grass this is huge as that Carpet in Montreal would ruin anyones back

The Angels had the 3rd most stolen bases last year. He'll probably run.

i think his numbers will be around the same except stolen bases.. expect a few more rbis and possibly more runs scored but his stolen bases will go down cuz its easier to suffer another back injury stealing bases.. id consider trading him but i wouldnt lower his value at all.. if someone blows u away with a deal u should seriously think about it tho
