I'd buy him an old school Nintendo and get him RBI Baseball
And if a basketball fan, Double Dribble or Arch Rivals
Can't forget about the Tecmo Football series either for football.
New games pale in comparison IMO!!
Arch Rivals was/is the greatest basketball game of all time.
Hockey -- Blades of Steel, NESBaseball -- World Series Baseball, Sega
Soccer -- World Cup, NES (The Russians are cheaters!!)
I went through 3 cartridges of World Series Baseball because I wore them all out
I think I played over a 1,000 full games on that thing. 22 K's with Kent Bottenfield, I'll never forget that game
I think I have to go hook it up, this thread is bringing back some memories. K.G.J. for SNES was also awesome. It was actually hard to hit a fastball, and it was a simple game. I absolutely HATE moving around a circle or square to hit the ball better. Just aim, swing, and hit
BTW: NBA Jam was the best basketball game ever made. Unless you count Atari, in which case One-on-One was the best. Bird v/s The Doctor
And for hockey, Hat Trick for Atari was also pretty cool. When I look at those games now it's hard to belive I spent entire summers playing them.
