Worst Weather Of All Time?

(Sorry...I had to get "of All Time" in there)

Seriously though, with the postponement of the Red Sox game, and the mess in Cleveland and everything else...has there been a season that's been this affected by weather in the early goings? I've only been watching baseball since 1998 or so and I can't remember this many cancellations and delays and such ever happening before.

Any other years that come to mind?

With the summer and winter months in both hemispheres now quite obviously changing, should there be a change in the baseball season from May until October?

In New Zealand they're looking at pushing cricket through until April and starting rugby a month later as a result. Could a shift like this work with pro sport in the States?

It's gotta be up there... I just hope the snow melts at Wrigley in time for the game Saturday as I have tickets.

The playoffs would be mighty cold in november...

Besides there is always lousy weather to start the season in Northeastern cities. It isn't that bad in boston today, just wet.

the playoffs would be mighty cold in november now, but maybe not in 10 years with the climate change that is currently going on.

On PTI they said Tom Glavine suggested the season should be shorten to around 150 games and the players should take a 5% decrease in salary (so the owners don't have to take the full revenue hit) because of this weather. I don't think the owners or players would go for it.

Start the season in May, and get rid of days off. Off days are boring. I'm certainly not going to watch MLS or the WNBA on Mondays, so baseball has a moral obligation to satisfy me.

Since we are not going to allow the players to take uppers or steroids, we should cut the season to about 120 games. Start in May

Now, if we do this, increase the football season to 27 games! ;-D
