He battled a groin injury late in spring training, maybe that's effecting him in the early going?

I think he'll work out the kinks in time. His track record is too strong for him to just slip away at such a young age. 45+ steals the past four years in a row...he'll be fine, just be patient.

From another post... here's Crawford's start last year:

Week One: 1 SB
Week Two: 2 SB
Week Three: 1 SB
Week Four: 2 SB

...6 SBs in his first month last year and he ended up with 58. :-°

I think he is upset at me for picking Upton to lead the Drays in stolen bases this year. ;-7 I think he will be fine. It seems his jump is a little bit off and he will get that straightened out.

maybe lairds got a good arm, here was some news from him courtesy of yahoo

Apr 10 The Associated Press reports Texas Rangers C Gerald Laird threw out Tampa Bay Devil Rays OF Carl Crawford trying to steal second base twice in the game Tuesday night, April 10. The speedy Crawford, who stole 58 bases last season, had never before been caught stealing twice in one game.

He's thrown out about 40% of basestealers in his career...not too shabby.

all he needs to do is getting his timing back down.
