I hear this a lot around here, so I'll mention it now. Doesn't performance lead to where you hit in the lineup? Everyone treats the causality backwards around here: "He won't hit 30 home runs, because he hits 9th". I don't understand how hitting in the lower half of the lineup limits your home run potential.
I realize that maybe you see more of a pitchers junk at the bottom of the order as opposed to hitting, say, #1, or #2 in front of the best hitters on the team, but that's where it ends for me. Am I missing something?
