I'm in a yearly 8 team yahoo head to head league. We use standard scoring and we also get to have 2 keepers from the previous year. The catch is that we will lose the same round draft pick we used on that player in the year before, and they must remain on the team roster for the whole year. We also get to keep these players for only one year.

My two keepers this year were Soriano in the 4th and Beltran in the 8th. Here is how my draft came out. I had the number 2 overall pick.

Draft Results ... Draft1.png ... draft2.png ... draft3.png

These were the keepers. 3 teams did not have keepers this year since they are new to the league.
D. Wright, B. Webb, A. Soriano, C. Beltran, ARod, Carpenter, A. Pettite, F. Garcia, Pujols, and Oswalt.

Round Pick Player Position
1. (2) Ryan Howard 1B
2. (15) Vladimir Guerrero OF
3. (18) Lance Berkman 1B,OF
4. (31) Alfonso Soriano OF
5. (34) Joe Nathan RP
6. (47) Francisco Rodríguez RP
7. (50) Garrett Atkins 3B
8. (63) Carlos Beltrán OF
9. (66) Brian McCann C
10. (79) Ben Sheets SP
11. (82) C.C. Sabathia SP
12. (95) Brian Roberts 2B
13. (98) Brett Myers SP
14. (111) Curt Schilling SP
15. (114) Cole Hamels SP
16. (127) Bill Hall 3B,SS
17. (130) Prince Fielder 1B
18. (143) Jeff Francoeur OF
19. (146) Rich Hill SP
20. (159) Pedro Martínez SP
21. (162) Francisco Liriano SP,RP
22. (175) Ryan Zimmerman 3B

Here is my current lineup

C: Brian McCann
1B: Ryan Howard
2B: Brian Roberts
SS: Bill Hall
3B: Garrett Atkins
OF: Alfonso Soriano
OF: Vladimir Guerrero
OF: Carlos Beltran
Util: Lance Berkman

Prince Fielder
Jeff Francoeur
Ryan Zimmerman

SP: Ben Sheets
SP: CC Sabathia
RP: Joe Nathan
RP: F-Rod
P: Brian Fuentes (put Linaro on the DL and picked him up)
P: Brett Myers
P: Curt Schilling

Cole Hamels
Rich Hill
Pedro Martinez (waiting on him to go on DL so I can pick up another pitcher. I'm eying Bush at the moment)

Liriano (Planning on stashing him so and keeping for next year)

So now that you've seen my team, does it look like I have too much power? I usually lean towards SB guys more than power hitters, but this year I couldn't pass up on the power that was falling to me.

Also, do you think I will be fine with my pitching?

Thanks for the help in advance, and please leave a link and I will rate your team as well.

CC in the 11th? Steal dude, complete steal.

To be honest, your team looks monsterous. You may not win steals every week, but I don't see anyone touching you in nearly every other hitting cat. Even your pitchers look pretty damned good, although you don't have a clear "stud" guy, but two stud closers definately makes up for that.

Yeah, I agree. Your team is killer. I wouldn't worry about steals too much and you do have a lot to trade for if it becomes a problem. As said, you've got two of the best closers out there which one could fetch you whatever you need considering how fickle the closer position is. Great team over all.

I'd be extremely surprised if you didn't murder everyone in your league (it does help that it's only 8). I'm in a 10 and a 12 and will never do a 10 again.

You have great depth and amazing players at every position. I'd agree getting rid of Pedro would be a wise move. Plus keeping Liriano is questionable, since you're basically saying he's going to be one of the TWO guys you plan on rolling over next year. That's a bold move.

Who else is on you waiver wire?

I've never played in an 8 team league before, but I would imagine that your competitor's teams are stacked as well. However, your team is ridiculously good. Great in every category, my only question mark would be Hall at SS. I dont see him repeating what he did last year.

Eight-team leagues are hard to judge, because everybody basically gets and all-star team, but yours look good.

None of those free agents appeals to me in an 8-teamer.

And while I like your thinking based on draft round, keeping Liriano next year is way, way too big a risk.

Looks good to me. You could use one more high end SP and a better SS..but that is really just nitpicking. You've got a pretty good team there.
