Dude slugged 592 8-o last year for a 961 OPS, better than Thome, Giambi, well, really everyone not named Helton or Delgado as a 1b last year.

Sure that was in only 448 AB, and its easily his career year till now, but WOW. I've always like him, and the twins were always jerking w/ his PT and AB's and he'd get hurt...but there is some serious talent here, AND in that lineup AND in that park, AND playing TB and not having to face Pedro or Schilling.

WHEW... ;-D
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.

For this kind of money, Ortiz will be starting for the next few years:

David Ortiz - DH - Boston Red Sox Dec 11

The Red Sox plan to offer a multiyear deal to David Ortiz, who will be eligible for free agency after next season.
According to the Boston Globe, the Sox are likely to offer the DH more than $6 million over two years, with a club option for a third year. Source: Boston Globe
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
