What's runs created? Do you mean RBIs?
What's RC/27?
Also, how did you get the stats of the g/f ratio?
very interesting
Rbis are a team dependent stat dependent on your teammates, (opportunities). A player has no control on who's on or not on when he comes to plate. Hitting a hr is a player's only real control on a rbi opportunity.
Runs created is a formula used to evaluate what a hitter really creates. There are many formulas, but the simpliest is
Hits Plus Walks
Times Total Bases
Divided by (At Bats Plus Walks)
It's accurate to within 90-95% most of time.
RC/27 is runs created per 27 outs, basically extended out to show what a lineup of 1 player would create over (27 outs) = 9 innings.
Giambi created 122 runs last year, of the 877 NY scored. His RC/27 was 7.92.
That means a lineup of 9 Giambis would score 7.92 runs over 162 games. Considering the run average was 4.72 per 27, you can see Giambi was 3.20 runs per 27 over average.
Lineup of 9 Giambis scores 7.92
Lineup of 9 average player's scores 4.72
He had 113 groundballs to 210 flyballs for .54 g/f ratio.
