I thought the indy stuff was very funny and no this is still the same season....The writers split seasons into 2 parts of the year the first half was shown earlier this year

Just watched it.

Well...I was prepared to be pretty disappointed after seeing the reviews here and on other sites, but it wasn't so bad. I laughed at the Indy content, even though I didn't hate the movie as some of you might remember (I personally didn't find CS anymore far-fetched than TOD which seemed to be many people's main criticism of it). The re-enacting of the famous rape scenes was pretty funny, even though they may have went a little bit too far. But that's what you have to expect with South Park, they'll push the envelope.

Anyway, the show may be declining in quality (too soon to say?), but I don't think this episode was nearly as bad as many people say it was.

I'll still watch. Looking forward to next week.

No, this first episode was a real stinker. It seemed to me like a group of creators OTHER than Trey Parker and what's his name put this episode together entirely, because while it did press all the same South Park buttons, the results were not funny and seemed forced. My example is the joke they kept pushing about Butters and where he was shooting the hostages. I couldn't even look at the TV by the time they went into Cartman's third rant about it. The Indy aspect of the plot was better, but only OK and far from great. The only part that I found myself really laughing at was the play off of the scene from Deliverance. But when that scene is a minute and a half out of twenty minutes you've got serious problems.

I'd give it a 4/10, but I'm not ready to stick a fork in south park just yet. However, for really fresh and engaging animation, you just can't beat Metalocalypse right now. :-)
