Wilpon is Cheap

Postby jruiss01 » Tue Dec 19, 2006 1:02 pm

The payroll is under 90 million. Zito needs to be signed. I think it is way too expensive for what these pitchers are getting. Boras is the devil. But if we have to sign zito for $16 million, I don't care. I think it's a must. Wilpon should use the money that he is getting from Citi field to get Zito.

Why would you say Wilpon is cheap when the off-season isn't even over yet? Remember Beltran? He didn't sign until January. I wonder how much whining you did that year? }:-) :-D
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

This has nothing to do with Wilpon being cheap. This has to do with Omar being smart enough not to commit $126 million on a pitcher who isn't worth it.
