Transformers 2 was everything a Summer blockbuster should be, visually. But the abundance of pathetic and painfully unfunny dialog was enough for me to downgrade it accordingly: C-. Most of the supporting cast of Transformers had like a Jar-Jar Binks type feel that, coupled with all of the lame dialog and obvious sterotypes, made me cringe instead of laugh. One them, think it was Mud Flap, had a gold tooth, spoke in Ebonics, and had entirely too much screen-time. It was grotesquely formulaic, which one might come to expect but this movie was unwavering in that regard. A little variation on the proven Hollywood formula should be afforded to the audience. Aside from neat FX and the outrageous beauty of Meagan Fox, it was pretty disappointing. If I had to sit through one more slow motion sequence at the end, I was going to start hurling popcorn at the screen. This ain't no Reservoir Dogs so stop using a dramatic effect in place of a dramatic event. Michael Bay really should acquire a co-director in his next endeavor.
