Here's another list from me again from movies that I've watched in the past I don't know how long:
a movie that you can look at symbolically. Much of the social commentary is very interesting. Its guess its kind of a interesting way to look at what our nation is coming to, and it was made 20 years ago, which is interesting to think about in itself. Its no boring movie however, some of it is kinda funny. Though some of it is a bit lame and wierd I still enjoyed this Terry Gilliam (Monty Python) produced movie.
Children of Men-8/10
Very interesting ideas here and interesting to think about. But I feel the same way alot of people do, they could have done more with it, but all in all, its a good movie
I loved Magnolia, and this was by the same director so I figured I'd check it out. Turned out to be a movie about the Porn industry in the 70's. Its extremely well made, and the acting and depth to the characters is very good, but this movie definetly pushed my "moral limits" I guess you could say.
One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest-8/10
The acting and Jack Nicholson is what makes this movie. I thought the plot and the explanations of everything coulda been better. Still considered a classic and its a good watch
Requiem for A Dream-7/10
Very well made. Just left me a bit nauteous. Wasn't exactly a "fun" movie to watch
Its a tad bit chick-flickish but the movie is greatly told, almost in a "Pan's Labyrinth" style of storytelling. I was surprised that I liked it this much.
Dr. Strangelove or how I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb-5.5/10
Its a dark comedy on the stupidity of the governments war tactics. Its has some amusing parts, but I found very long stretches of it pretty boring
Some good sci-fi action fun. The acting isn't the greatest, but its a fun film and I recommend it if you are into that sorta thing
The Royal Tenenbaums-8.5/10
The ending bumped up the rating for me, it was pretty awesome. I was hoping to see more Bill Murray than I did. Still, good dark comedy, good acting and dialogue.
And I watched a bunch of Mel Brook's films, so I'll just rank the ones I watched from favorite to least favorite:
History of The World Pt 1
"Let's Keep The Friendly Confines Friendly" - Ernie Banks
