Fraternities are about developing young men into solid individuals and leaders. Any fraternity that isn't about doing something along these lines is a damn joke.

Anyway join the best fraternity anywhere

Tau Kappa Epsilon

One more thing it's fraternity not frat.

I agree completely here except replace it with Delta Chi :-b .

"Why do you call your fraternity a frat? Would you call your country a ****?"

I had a frat guy chastise me about that, using that country line. I responded with, "So should I call you a d***head not a d***?"

The TKE's were the geekiest frat on our campus, which I guess just adds to the previous claims that it's not a fair assessment of a certain frat since they can vary from school to school.

We stole a lion statue from Sigma Alpha Epsilon once and chiseled an ashtray in it's head. It made a nice conversation piece.

Social networking if a phoney word for "Talking to people"

I don't think it works that way. Schools are different and fraternities are generally different from house to house.

Me and my best friend lived on Busch Campus (which turned out to be exactly the opposite of the name) at our school. The ratio of male to female in the engineering school was literally 20-1 if not worse. Most students were very geeky (so am I but I view myself as somewhat cooler geek) and unfun to party with. So you have two choices to meet girls and party:

1. Transfer out of the school and move campus which was out of the question

2. Join a fraternity

Plus the our frat was very down to earth and I made life time friends who have similar interests and goals in life. What is so phoney about that?

Frats essentially seem like a bunch of guys paying money to make friends with other people.
