Anybody care to share any info on this guy? How big is he?
How does he compare with Buchholz, Carrasco, FMorales?

West is still young(20) and raw. He has a very good frame to fill in at 6' 8 but only 200lbs. If he can gain 20+ pounds then I think he can probably move that low 90's fastball up to the mid 90's+. Everything I've seen still says his secondary pitches (curve, change) are just average right now though its something they are working on.

He was a 1st rd supplemental pick 44th overall in the 2005 draft for the Florida Marlins. I've seen him listed as the 5th best prospect in the Marlins organization. I think he is definately someone to keep an eye on as he is a lefty with a good frame to build on and could become overpowering if he works hard.

I put West and Volstad at 1 and 2 in the Marlins Organization (not counting Petit), Both are big guys at around 6-7, Both have a lot of room to pick up velocity on the fastball, and both look to be potential number 1 starters.
