Sleeper 2007 NL ROY

Postby scr » Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:10 pm

Homer Bailey and Mike Pelfrey are the automatic front runners, but my sleeper pick for 2007 NL ROY is: Chris Young, CF Ari.

Not sure if Luke Scott or Chris Duncun qualify for 07, but I think Young will surprise nicely on the upside.

Duncan and Scott had too many AB to be eligible next year.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

No ideal on this 1. Bailey or Pelfrey would for sure be my pick but who knows where they start the season. I'll say sleeper pick is...Jonathan Sánchez SF Giants. he pitched 40.00 innings and you can pitch up until 52 innings so he should keep his rookie status into next year, right? Also, if Clutch gets called up for Pit to play CF he might be a contender.

50 IP or 45 days on the active roster.

How is Chris Young a sleeper? Many people think he is a better prospect than Pelfrey. Even those who put both Baily and Pelfrey ahead of him think he is a top 10 prospect.

Right now i am thinking Bailey. I also think Troy Tulowitzki has a pretty good shot at winning it.

What about U. Jimenez in Colo? Especially if Jennings is dealt, he could for sure be in the rotation.
