Hmmmm... Trading him to a team in their own division. Guess they don't think he'd be much problem when they face him.

For those of you too lazy to click, the Yankees got Chris Britton in the deal, who was a pretty darn good reliever last year, and also sent $4 million to the Orioles.

Good move by the Yankees IMO.

It would be interesting to see if Leo Mazzone can do his magic again.

Thats an amazing trade for the Yankees. Britton could be their best setupman this season.

Wright = batting practice. I am very impressed with Cashman this week. Unless someone else is behind these trades.

When considering the price of starting pitching and Wright's rep in NY, I agree with both sides on this 1. Though, I wouldn't give up Britton for him.

hmm. Not that Jarret Wright was anything special, but the Yanks starting rotation is looking shakey at best. They have a $17mil option on Mussina (although word is they are negotiating a two year deal), Randy Johnson's a year older and currently recovering from back surgury, and I'm sure Carl Pavano will manange to hurt something before spring training. Chien Wang is the only other starter they have that i can think of. Not that they wouldn't have done it anyway, but they almost HAVE to overpay for one the FA pitchers (Schmidt, Zito) now. Unless the Matsuzaka/Bos reports aren't true.

Does this signal Philip Hughes making the rotation?
