Look, normally this wouldn't be a question worth raising. Always start your aces, and Huddy certainly qualifies. But this is a weird week. The A's clinched the AL West last night. That means that more than a few drinks probably went around the clubhouse last night. Today's game starts at 12:05 PST, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that some of the fellas may not be 100% today.
So, do you start Hudson today? The day after the A's clinch the AL West?
I think I am going to sit him in my H2H playoffs. I have a comfortable, though not insurmountable, lead in ERA and WHIP, am winning Wins 8-6, and am up by one in Ks. I also have Beckett going later today.
If you need (or can afford) to take a risk, then I say go with Hudson. If you are playing conservatively to preserve a lead, then sit Huddy. If you threw either Miller or Webb this week, then throwing Hudson today is probably a good idea.
Good luck everyone!
