I'd still put the Northwest up against anywhere for the best/most micro brews. Pound for pound we have the best....or should I say 'pint for pint.'
The big breweries put up the money in ad revenue for the GABF. There are 400 breweries. Coors, Anheisuer, sam adams, miller, whatever. make up like 10 of them.
Oregon has really good beer. I like portland although it's not as amazing as everyone told me it was going to be. It's still a pretty sweet city. I'm siping on a Black Butte porter right now.
The GABF is the best beer fest ever. We have a ton of them in colorado though (Beer fests)
