I cut this from the Cincinnati Enquirer, I just thought it was interesting:

Here's a look at the status of the Reds' 25-man roster on Opening Day (stats entering Monday):

SS Barry Larkin On disabled list
2B Aaron Boone Traded to Yankees
CF Ken Griffey Jr. On disabled list
RF Austin Kearns On disabled list
LF Adam Dunn On disabled list
1B Sean Casey (.291, 12 HR, 66 RBI)
3B Brandon Larson On disabled list
C Jason LaRue (.232, 15 HR. 45 RBI)
RHP Jimmy Haynes On disabled list
LHP Jimmy Anderson Released
RHP Ryan Dempster On disabled list
RHP Danny Graves (4-14, 5.30)
LHP Felix Heredia Claimed on waivers by Yankees
RHP J. Manzanillo In minor leagues
LHP Kent Mercker Traded to Braves
LHP Gabe White Traded to Yankees
RHP Scott Williamson Traded to Red Sox
RHP Paul Wilson (8-10, 4.74)
C Kelly Stinnett (.243, 3 HR, 18 RBI)
IF Felipe Lopez Disabled list
OF Ruben Mateo (.242, 3 HR, 12 RBI)
OF Wily Mo Pena (.159, 0 HR, 4 RBI)
OF Reggie Taylor To be placed on disabled list

As a (former) die-hard Reds fan, this makes me sad.

"Just wait for 2003," they said.

Postby PresHabib » Tue Aug 26, 2003 12:21 pm die hard fan, it looks like you died hard. Cincinattie needs to adopt the Theo Epstein system (I know its the Billy Beane sytem but Im a Sox fan, so I say Epstein, lol) and get a GM who can input a lineup that relies on strike zone control, OBP, patience, and NO STRIKEOUTS. Having some hacks and hoping they got on base for kearns and dunn hoping for a long ball is NOT the least, shouldnt be the foundation of the lineup...they need an overhaul (which has begun obviously) and if they can get better baseball players instead of big dudes with sticks they may be ok in a few years.
Rest in peace Mitch Hedberg. I name my fantasy team "Buoyancy of Citrus", in your honor.

8-o Hmm....I wonder if a team has ever finished a season without a single member from the opening day roster still on the team. :-?

There's a puzzler for those of you who enjoy trivia. ;-)
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
