OMAHA, Neb. - The mother of four drug addicted babies wants to give drug addicts $300 to stop having babies. Twenty-one people in 10 cities have taken her up on the offer in the last five days. Barbara Harris is hoping to add more names to that list in Omaha. The mission is personal for Harris and her nonprofit organization, Project Prevention. "I adopted four out of eight babies born to a crack addict. It was frustrating to get a phone call every year saying she'd had another baby," Harris said.
Harris said she'll give $300 to every drug addicted woman who will get long-term birth control. Women who sign-up for Harris' program have to get a doctor's verification before receiving a check. Men can also sign up for the program.
