My Team - Need more Hitting?

Postby ChicagoCubs04 » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:06 pm

12 team 5 X 5 Head to head league

I'm currently in 4th place (3 games back) and have some struggles in saves and hitting

C B. McCann
1B R. Howard
2B D. Uggla
3B R. Zimmerman
SS Ha. Ramírez
OF J. Damon
OF C. Patterson
OF R. Ibañez
Util T. Hafner
BN E. Byrnes
BN D. Ross
BN Jo. López

SP Jo. Santana
SP B. Arroyo
SP C. Zambrano
SP J. Verlander
SP J. Bonderman
SP Jer. Weaver
SP G. Meche
RP T. Gordon
RP C. Cordero

I had a trade of Verlander for Nick Swisher but it was vetoed in my league. I'm currently trying to get another bat in my lineup. Any suggestions?

If you have to use 7 SP and 2 RP see if you can trade one of your lower end starters for Saito. He is eligible as a SP in many leagues, so you can probably play him there and catch up on some saves. He also just got the closer job. He'll also help your ERA and WHIP. I'm not quite sure exactly what to tell you without more roster specifications.

You have a lot of good starting pitching, so you could probably trade some for an OF.

You're lucky enough to have Johan, CZam, and Verlander. Those guys aren't going to slow down. I'd keep them as your anchors, but move Arroyo for a big bat in your OF. He's the least likely to keep up this pace, and you need to move someone. Sell high ;-D

I agree about selling high on Arroyo. And as far as hitting goes, I think you have a few guys that can hit for decent avg and score a lot of runs, but you just don't have enough power in that lineup. You need a big bopper that will rake in the HR, RBI.
