How active are your leagues?

Postby Quaker » Tue Aug 19, 2003 2:57 pm

I'm in a 10 team private money league. By the end of the first month, one person already stopped checking his team. By the All-Star break 2 were inactive. Now, only the top 5 are active. It's frustrating because there are fewer trade opportunities, and some decent players are left on the wire. I just like it when there's a lot of activity.

I think the biggest problem is that it's winner takes all, so the guys who don't think they have a chance anymore drop out. I'm starting to wish we had a payment scale, maybe that would have kept people in the game.

Coming into the home stretch, how active are your leagues?

think 5 out of the 12 teams in my yahoo private league actually are paying attention, not a money league though.

In my 10 team no-money league the top 3 and bottom 3 are still active. The middle 4 have quit. Never had that mix before

In my 10 team private league winner takes all ($200) and all but one are active to some respect. A few have never or only early in the season traded (they don't respond to offers although they are active, adds, drops, roster moves, <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif> ). I think next year though that we are going to add a penalty for finishing last or last two to make sure that people don't quit all together, and give money to top three so one person doesn't take all, especially if they just had a lot of luck.

Most of my leagues are moderate to fairly active. In one league there's only about 5 active owners out of 12. :-/

I'm in a 12 team league and I would say all of the teams are still making moves.

That's why I ONLY play in $$$ leagues... Not to gamble or anything just to give participating teams some incentive

Anyone interested in a $10 football league
