Rotoworld
Jose Contreras struck out 15 in seven scoreless inning for short season Single-A Staten Island last night.
Contreras is scheduled to start Thursday for Triple-A Columbus, but this performance could change that. Unless they push the moves back to Sept. 1, the Yankees are going to have some tough decisions to make once Contreras and Gabe White return. Jesse Orosco is a top candidate to be released, but the Yankees might just stash a couple of pitchers on the DL.

What do you think? Should I go out and get him, who should I drop?

Actually, I THINK that Baez lost the closer's job in Cleveland. If that's the case, well I guess you'd need a closer then....but I'd consider dropping Lowe (who pitches for a good team) or Perez (who pitches for a crappy offense). Contreras was pitching very well for the Yanks before he took his little vacation.....you gotta figure if Contreras has another start like that, they'll bump Whiplash Weaver from the rotation (he HAS been pitching better in general lately).

The nastiest thing about that Contreras line: I think it took him like 87 PITCHES to do it!!!

I am not impressed with 15 Ks at A-Ball :-t Single-A is a long way from the majors. Whe he pitched in the majors he wasn't that good. So please everyone don't just jump on the bandwagon just yet.

whoopie! He managed to strike out 15 class A batters! That's something to be proud of. Since they're almost on the same level as the major leaguers..... :-D

I'm dropping R. Soriano for contreras since Garcia decided he can pitch.
