My team sucks! I drafted badly in the middle rounds. I picked Sexson, Bonds, and Drew to be my main HR hitting guys. I held on to Bonds until yesterday, I dropped him. Too much dead weight on my team. I picked up Burke instead.
But I do have 1 hitting stud. Soriano. When Soriano has a stud week, he almost single handedly can win HR's and SB's.
My pitching could be good, it is a mixed bag. I have Johan Santana, Roger Clemens, Mark Beuhrle, and Randy Johnson. The rest of my staff sucks, and I often lose era and whip because of them. I don't know what to make of Randy, he gets me wins and some k's, but some weeks he really hurts my team in era.
Here is the offer I recieved. Should I trade away Soriano, my only hitting stud for Pedro Martinez?
What strategy should I use? My team is sinking quick. I don't have the firepower in offense to win. Do I keep Soriano and hope my hitters improve, or do I ditch Soriano and improve my pitching? I think if I add Martinez to my pitching staff, I might be able to sweep that every week. Then I would look in the stacks for a dave roberts type stolen base threat, and tweak my offense to go after one or two stats. I think this strategy might help me win 7-5 each week, and I'll start climbing back up in the standings.
What does everyone think? Keep Soriano or trade for Pedro Martinez?
