huh, completely agree with what he's saying but when you are (somewhat) the face of a franchise, it's not that great of an idea. :-t

Well, I don't know about the WNBA games, that's a lot of lesbians, but.... have you BEEN to a Madonna concert in the last decade?

No, but the only recollection I have of Madonna live is her kissing another girl on stage.

The crowds at are her shows are some women who are 40 and over but primarily it's composed of gay men. So the comment does make some amount of sense.

Wouldn't that comment then suggest that Guillen himself was gay?

I think it's ridiculous that people get riled up over stupid stuff like this. Was it insensitive? Probably. Did he mean anything bad by it? No. So what's the point in getting all pissed off and worked up about it?

I wish more people were like him. Speaks his mind, does what he feels is right in a given situation, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

And to the people who are mad about the Sean Tracey incident, if the kid can't follow directions, then he deserved to get sent down. And frankly I get more pissed off when there isn't retaliation than when they're is. There are just too many chicken____s in baseball today that don't respect how the game was meant to be played. Want Clemens to think twice about drilling your cleanup hitter? Drill Clemens next time he comes to the plate.

My two cents...

They're about to bring it up on Around the Horn...and Mariotti is still on.

So Mariotti calls for a suspension, no one else agrees and they say the Sox have a right to rip him because of how he's ripped them, however not in such a manner. They make a comparison of OG struggling to make it as a Latino manager and how derogatory terms directed toward him in such a manner would not be allowed, but they overlooked the fact that Mariotti is not actually a homo.

The main question here is, do OG's words really hurt anyone. From a baseball perspective it may deliver the message that gays are not welcome to be fans of the game, a valid point. More importantly, how can words like Guillen’s negatively impact our country and world?

well I wouldn't look at him as a representative of our country. More as a rep of baseball. I mean heck he gladly hopped on a plane owned by Hugo Chavez right after winning the World Series.
He def. does not represent me ..

I do think a suspension of some sort is in order. The man is out of control. Kenny Williams must be pulling his hair out by now having to deal with the garbage that follows Guillen around. As was pointed out earlier, untrained monkeys could have got that|this team to the playoffs and possibly the World Series. Kenny Williams deserves the credit that Ozzie Guillen takes and rubs in peoples noses in daily.

Guillen is Marge Schott revisited ..
no difference. :-t
