I haven't even seen a report that says he'll start yet but I did see a report saying Ponson was being sent to the pen. Again, I'm not sure who it would be taking over that spot if not Reyes.

You might want to take a good hard look at Olsen. He's put together a bunch of real solid outings now and is getting lots of Ks. Plus, Florida has suddenly turned into a really good team, so he should even help you in wins.

Reyes has never hurt me though either, when I've spot started him this year.

It seems funny to me how sometimes it seems there's absolutely nothing on FA that can help you, and other times it seems like you need 8 more roster spots for all of the solid players you want to add.

Reyes is a highly rated prospect. He had a great K rate in the minors (over 10 K/9) and excellent control. Add that to the Card's offense (especially with Pujols back) and solid relief support, I think Reyes makes a nice pick-up.

Indeed, I just picked him up myself and dropped Ollie Perez (who I just picked up after his good performance against the Twins).

Probably. Either him or Wainwright would rank 2-3 respectively unless the Cards get someone in by the trade deadline or in the offseason.

With ya on that. However CBS put a damper on that today, pointing out that he didn't have too good a last outing. While I read someone else saying he had been lights out lately. Well, I picked him up last night, now all I can do is keep my fingers crossed. Oh yeah, I dropped that stud Sele, so not much lost anyway.

I take what CBS says like a grain of salt. :-?

I read that too. It may just be poor writing by CBS. I think they may have been talking about Ponson having a bad outing last time out. Maybe not but that's the kind of poor writing/typing that has been on CBS this season.
