I could see the Mets trading him for some pitching. He's going to be a headache in NY and will cause problems in the clubhouse. I think this callup was more of a test than anything else and he failed. How many times has Randolph had to talk to this clown already???? Wright has already commented that his lateness is "unacceptable" and the future of the Mets is Reyes and Wright. He's a knucklehead that couldn't couldn't get to the ballpark on time as a rookie knowing that the media was following him. He's gone. He'll get traded for Zito or Willis after he's sent down. This is thier year to win it all and they know it. I think if the Mets really had plans for him, the day he showed up late they would have sent him down right there to teach him a lesson. The fact that they didn't tells me that they are showcasing him.

My problem is that I don't view either one as a keeper. We only keep 6 players each year but can keep minor leaguers that stay under 130ab/50ip through August 12th. Peralta would have been a much better fit for my team this year as I had 6 of'ers for 3 slots but only 1 ss. However I scuttled the deal after picking up Bartlett...sounds like the perfect kind of guy to plug in for Jimmy Rollins' off-days as he brings the same thing (speed) to the table.
