It actually makes alot of sense to have Johnson batting near the top of the order, given that he has a great .422 on base percentage, due to all the walks he takes. What would really make sense is permanently getting Soriano out of the leadoff spot because his plate discipline and on base percentage (.322) is atrocious for a leadoff hitter.

In fact, if it wasn't for his poor speed, Nick Johnson would be an ideal leadoff hitter, since he gets on base so much. If he played for a team like the Jays, that don't steal, he would be leading off. Soriano is a terrible leadoff hitter IMO.
