Politte should be getting his job back with his last outing. A coin toss between Mears or Lincoln.

Politte definitely.

I'd say Lincoln, but Mears is about the same. I just think Pitt will win more than Det.

Well, none of these guys are officially closers. Trammel hasn't announced Mears as his closer although he has been getting all the save opps lately. They could well call up German or Anderson to take his job the second he falters. According to Tosca, Politte still doesn't have the closers role and he is still running it situationaly was his comment after last night, so he's no sure thing. Also, he is a flyball pitcher that is prone to the longball, and has the tendency to torch your ERA and WHIP. Politte probably is the best shot here, but still is a scary option.

Forget about Estrella, because he's blown up in the couple save chances he has had, and almost certainly won't be getting many more. Mears is right now the sole closer on Detroit, while Lincoln is the main closer in a committee, and his hold on that is tenuous at best. His recent blowups also can really hurt your ERA and WHIP. I would go with Mears, but none of these options are pretty. If you have strength in another area, you may want to look at trading for a safe closer.

Politte

Earlier today Jays manager would not commit to Politte as THE closer, but very strongly hinted that he is probably the team's best option in tight situations. Verdict: Politte.
