Giambi's splits this season?

Postby guest » Mon Aug 04, 2003 5:01 pm

Giambi is batting .244 with a .442 SLG and .860 OPS at home. He's hit 8 HR and collected 30 RBI at home. On the road he's batting .275, with a .640 slugging percentage and a 1.062 OPS, to go with 23 HR and 56 RBI. Is there a reason for this? Doesn't Yankee stadium favor left handed hitters? Or is it just luck? Curious ...

that is really weird, thanks for pointing that out. i have no clue why he has so many more hr's on the road but i do know yankee stadium is a great hitters park for lefties. i have no idea.

I believe he was asked about this at the homerun derby, and he said he feels like he hits the ball to the opposite field more than he used too. Said most of his homeruns weren't pulled to right. I don't know if he was being truthful or just trying to justify his subpar home performance.
