Kennedy is in the final year of his 3 year contract. He won't be re-signed.
Kendrick won't start over Kennedy while he is on the team, but they may trade him in the next month to get something for him, rather than just let him go as a free agent.
Kendrick won't get any significant time at 1B with Morales playing well and Kotchman waiting in the wings.
He also won't get any significant time at 3B because the Angels need to see what McPherson can do and they also need a place for Figgins when unfortunalely Erstad will come off the DL.
Bottom line: Kendrick starts at 2B next year (or this year if and when kennedy gets traded).

He's currently hitting .414 in AAA, has a slugging percentage of .675 and has 41 RBIs. There's nothing empty about that. I'm not really adding anything that wake didn't say, just trying to support it some more. People worry about his low walk totals, but he continues to hit regardless. You'd have to figure that the Angels are tempted to make room for him very soon. It's probably only a matter of time.PlayingWithFire wrote:isn't Kendrick just an empty Batting average? just curious or does he have power potential?
